“Hi I’m Dr. Wachtel and today we’re going to talk about plantar fasciitis, or heel pain, which is a very common problem in our practice.

We see heel pain quite often and are very fluid in treating it properly. Heel pain is most often caused by a complex called plantar fasciitis. Plantar fasciitis is a tightening or inflammation of the arch cord. There’s a tissue attaching from your heel to your toes and it’s what supports the arch. Over time that cord gets pulled and torqued back in forth especially in the morning the actual arch cord is tight and swollen. There are a couple steps in treatment before we can get blood properly flowing to the plantar fascia (the actual cord) and relieve heel pain and overall stiffness.

In our practice we use a new form of treatment which is very exciting for our patients which is laser therapy. Over a few visits we can provide injectionless care for your heel pain which is safe, effective, and conservative. In a short period of time you should have an amazing amount of relief.”
