Treatment for Nerve Pain caused by Diabetic Neuropathy

“Hi, I’m Dr. Wachtel, and today I’m very excited to talk about neuropathy. In our practice, a lot of our patients who are diabetic come in with nerve pain – burning, numbness, or tingling. This is a very common problem among diabetics, but there can be other causes such as overdrinking and alcohol use, as well as medications.

Neuropathy is widespread among many populations who come into the practice. Most commonly, patients experience burning, numbness, and tingling. It can be one or all three of those symptoms. Patients typically complain that they can’t sleep at night and that they need medication for the pain. It can be quite disabling.

We just began a series of treatments regarding neuropathy called Neurogenix. This is a very simple and easy treatment. We inject all of the nerves on the top of the foot and the ankle and we apply a machine to the foot for about a half an hour. We can locate which nerves are causing the pain signal. Over a several week span, we can moderately reduce the pain of neuropathy. This is a very exciting treatment that we are providing. If you have these symptoms, please consider us. Give us a call at (978) 794-8406.”
